To start issuing your badges, first you will need navigate in the left hand menu to the "Issuing Badges" tab, where you will then be giving a drop down list of the different methods to issue badges. These are:
- Manual entry
- Imported file
- Group issued
- Rules based issuing
Manual Entry – Just enter a name and an email address. This method is ideal fi you have a low number of badges to issue and it needs to be done quickly.
Imported File – Upload a CSV file with the recipient’s email addresses across the first row of the spreadsheet. Ideal for bulk issuing.
Group Import – If you have already created end user accounts and assigned them to a group, you can issue a badge to them this way.

Rules Based Issuing – Create rules that allow you to automatically issue Open Badges to reduce the admin time spent issuing them manually. The rules work with the API through registering events such as having a form submitted, a test completed etc. Learn more about Rules Based Issuing in our article here.
